Last weekend CCSP students took advantage of a breezy sunny day and headed to the outskirts of Beijing for a visit to the Lugou Bridge. The group was accompanied by Professor Liu Xinguang, associate professor of the School of Chinese Classics and CCSP Professor for the course of Contemporary Chinese History and Culture.

Professor Liu explained that the bridge, also known as Marco Polo Bridge, is of great historical importance: it is located in a 17th-century fortress that also hosts the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

We are looking forward to more visits following in May and June!
